About The Puzzle Yard
A quiet corner of the internet for people who like a daily puzzle with their morning coffee.
The Puzzle Yard is a free collection of daily puzzles. Every day we publish a fresh word search, word ladder, number puzzle and trivia quiz — the same challenge for every player, all over the world. Each game takes only a few minutes, works on any phone or computer, and never asks you to create an account.
The games
- Daily Squares — twelve words hidden in a 10×10 letter grid. Trace them by swiping in any of eight directions, including diagonals.
- Daily Ladder — turn one word into another, changing a single letter at a time, with a real word at every rung.
- Number Yard — place the missing numbers so every row and column of the grid adds up to its target.
- Quick Quiz — five trivia questions a day, with a surprising fact behind every answer.
How it works
Every puzzle is generated and checked in advance, then published at midnight Sydney time. Your progress and streak are saved privately in your own browser — we never see them — so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off. Missed a day? Every game keeps an archive of past puzzles you can play whenever you like.
When new puzzles arrive
Every game changes at midnight in Sydney, Australia. Because Sydney observes daylight saving time, the exact reset time elsewhere can change during the year. The date shown on each game is the Puzzle Yard day in Sydney.
Why we built it
We think the best daily puzzles are calm ones: no noisy timers, no coins, no endless levels, no pressure to pay. Just one satisfying challenge a day, a streak to protect, and a spoiler-free score to share with friends.
Free to play
The Puzzle Yard is free for everyone. The site is supported by unobtrusive advertising, which keeps the games free without paywalls or subscriptions.
