Privacy Policy

Information we collect

The Puzzle Yard does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details. Your puzzle progress, score and preferences are stored in your own browser.

Google Analytics

If you allow Analytics, Google Analytics receives page views and game events such as starting or completing a puzzle, using a hint, or sharing a result. We do not send puzzle answers, selected words or solution paths. Google may also receive technical information such as your device, browser and approximate location derived from your internet address.

Cookies and advertising

If you allow Advertising, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar identifiers to provide and measure advertising. You can manage personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings. No advertising is placed inside a puzzle board.

Consent and your choices

Google's certified consent platform presents the choices required for your location and is the source of truth for Google consent. Google Analytics loads only when the platform's Analytics choice allows it. The Google AdSense code is present on each page so Google can show its consent message, but ad requests stay paused until the platform's advertising choices and the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework signal allow them. You can reopen the Google message from Privacy choices in the footer to change or withdraw consent.

Browser storage

The site uses local browser storage to remember puzzle progress, completion times, streaks, statistics, display preferences and whether introductory prompts have been seen. It also stores a local copy of the Google consent result, including when it was received and the version of this notice. Google also stores the consent record needed to remember and apply your choice. Puzzle progress remains separate from that consent record.

Children

The Puzzle Yard is suitable for all ages and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• Clearing browser storage removes saved progress, preferences and your privacy choice.
• Rejecting either or both optional categories still lets you play every puzzle.
• You may ask us what data we hold about you by email.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
