How to play Quick Quiz

Quick Quiz is five general-knowledge questions a day, each with four possible answers. Questions start easier and get harder, and every answer comes with a short fact.

Step by step

  1. Read the question and the four options.
  2. Tap the answer you think is right. Your choice locks in straight away.
  3. See whether you were right. The correct answer is marked, along with a one-line fact.
  4. Tap Next question to continue. After the fifth, tap See your score.
  5. Review your answers on the results screen.

Example: how one question plays (a sample question)

Which planet is closest to the Sun?

  • Venus
  • Mercury (correct)
  • Mars
  • Earth
  1. Question: Which planet is closest to the Sun? Options: Venus, Mercury, Mars, Earth.
  2. You tap Mercury. The answer is checked and marked correct, and your score goes up by one.
  3. A short fact appears below, then you move on to question two.
  4. Had you tapped Venus, it would be marked wrong, Mercury would be shown as the right answer and your score would stay the same.

Scoring and winning

  • You score one point for each correct answer, out of five.
  • Wrong answers don't take points away, and there is no time limit on any question.
  • The clock runs from your first answer to your last. Your time is shown with your score.
  • Finishing today's quiz with any score extends your streak. Archive puzzles add to your totals but never change your daily streak, so you can catch up on missed days without gaming it.

Strategy tips

  • Rule out options first. Often two of the four are clearly wrong, which turns a guess into a 50/50.
  • Read every option before tapping. Answers lock immediately, so there's no second chance.
  • There's no time pressure, so slow down on the last two questions, which are the hardest.
  • Read the facts. Topics come from a wide mix of categories, and the facts often help on later days.

Common mistakes

  • Tapping the first plausible option before reading the rest.
  • Going back expecting to change an answer. Once chosen, an answer can't be changed.
  • Leaving mid-quiz and assuming you've lost your place. Your progress is saved, so you can pick up where you left off.
